Empty Classroom

My wife, Andrea, and I have three children, Sawyer, Natalie, and Olivia, one each at Priceville Elementary, Priceville Junior High and Priceville High School.

My name is Daniel Gullion, and I am proud to announce my candidacy for Superintendent of Morgan County Schools. I am a lifelong Morgan County resident, a second-generation educator, and a school leader with more than two decades of experience serving students at every level, twenty-two of those years in the Morgan County School System.

I was raised on my family’s farm in the heart of Morgan County, where respect, hard work, and perseverance were instilled in me at an early age. My parents taught me the value of education and service, lessons that continue to define my leadership today. After a career-ending football injury at Auburn University, I felt a clear calling to education and returned home to serve the community that raised me.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving students in many roles. I have taught agriculture, vocational education, special education, and life skills as the STAR program teacher; served as Director of the Special Olympics teams; coached football and baseball; and worked as both assistant principal and principal. I currently serve as Principal of Priceville Elementary School, following three years as Assistant Principal. Under my leadership, Priceville Elementary has consistently earned an “A” rating, demonstrated strong academic performance, and maintained low staff turnover, reflecting a positive school culture built on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Morgan County is more than where I work, it's home. I attended Cotaco School, my wife attended Eva School, and we both graduated from A.P. Brewer High School. We love Morgan County. It is where we have chosen to raise our children, invest in our community, and build our lives.

During my career in education, I have developed the experience, perspective, and skills necessary to help lead our school system from good to great. I have learned that every individual plays a vital role in the educational process. Morgan County is blessed with outstanding board members, directors, administrators, teachers, and support staff across every school. While each community is unique, we all share a common goal, doing what is best for our students.

As Superintendent, I will work to build and maintain strong, healthy relationships with community members, faculty, and students throughout the district while continually striving for educational excellence. I believe honest and open communication is the foundation of any successful relationship, and I am committed to fostering transparency, trust, and accountability so that we can work together to ensure student success in all aspects of education.

Most importantly, I am a husband and father who believes leadership is about service. Every decision I make is guided by one unwavering principle: students first!

Thank you for the encouragement, prayers, and support you’ve shown my family and me already.
I’m grateful for each of you, and I look forward to serving Morgan County together.
